A box culvert is a precast reinforced concrete pipe with a rectangular cross-section, used for drainage under roads and footpaths and for large drainage works. A duct bank is a run of underground conduits for power or communication cables encased in concrete to protect them. CCP makes precast duct banks for underground electrical systems, faster to install than casting in place, made to any required size, with concrete spacers for spacing HDPE ducts. A cable trench is a concrete channel for laying power or other cables along the ground, with removable covers for maintenance. A U-ditch is a precast U-shaped concrete drain for surface water along roads and in industrial estates, factories and housing estates. CCP makes widths from 25x25 to 360x360 cm, 1–2 m long, with or without shoulders, with angle-steel edges or dowels, and with concrete or steel covers (2 or 20 tonnes). A spoon drain is a shallow, gently curved surface drain that carries water while vehicles can still drive over it, suited to garden roads, industrial estates, housing estates and warehouses. A U-ditch is deeper, carries more water and is usually covered. CCP makes spoon drains 30x8, 40x10, 50x15, 50x20 and 50x25 cm, 1 m long, with matching V-drain covers. An O-Gutter is a closed concrete drain with a narrow slot at road level and the channel below ground, so it collects water like a drain but is hidden like a pipe and can be driven over — ideal for road crossings. A concrete barrier separates traffic lanes or closes off roads. CCP makes single-sided, double-sided and raised-base barriers (Type 1, Type 2, Half and U Shape) to Department of Highways, Department of Rural Roads and Department of Public Works standards, 1–3 m long. CCP drain covers come in three types: reinforced concrete, rust-proof painted steel and hot-dip galvanized steel. Choose 2-tonne covers for footpaths and pedestrian areas or 20-tonne covers where vehicles pass. Covers are made to the drain width and can be bought with the drain. For underground HDPE duct work, CCP offers concrete HDPE spacer blocks to electricity-authority standards for 2" (63 mm) to 5" (140 mm) ducts, in 29.5, 49.5 and 69.5 x 20 x 7.5 cm, plus handholes with duct openings made to the number and size of HDPE ducts. Install in 3 steps: (1) mark the position and drill holes in the floor to the pattern for each size using a 20 mm or larger bit; (2) fill the holes with cement adhesive and insert DB 12 mm deformed bars; (3) place the wheel stopper over the bars, fill the top holes with cement adhesive and finish the surface. Choose a CCP precast manhole by 7 points: (1) the pipe size it connects to; (2) sediment sump depth; (3) external and internal dimensions; (4) height; (5) strength, e.g. under footpath or under traffic; (6) neck type — a CCP precast neck or dowels left for your own extension; and (7) number of connections — 1, 2, 3 or 4 ways, according to where pipes or drains enter and leave on site. CCP makes precast lighting pole foundations to the Department of Highways 2015 standard drawing for 6–9 m and 9–12 m poles, in 40x70x80, 40x80x120, 50x80x120, 50x100x120 and 60x195x100 cm. Customers can specify J-Bolt size and spacing using CCP hot-dip galvanized J-Bolts (see sizes in the product drawings) or supply their own J-Bolts for CCP to install, and the cable conduit can be changed from PVC to HDPE. Manholes are the junctions of a drainage system and work with U-ditches, concrete pipes and O-Gutters. Main benefits: (1) change size, e.g. a 30 cm drain in and a 60 cm drain out; (2) change direction, e.g. a 90-degree turn; (3) join several runs, e.g. three ways meeting; and (4) change connection type, e.g. a drain in and a concrete pipe out. Reinforced concrete pipes to TIS 128 are graded by load-bearing strength — higher classes carry more load. Choose the class according to site conditions and design requirements. All three are precast reinforced concrete rectangular culverts for drainage; they differ by location and fill depth: TIS 1164 for under footpaths, TIS 1165 under traffic with less than 0.6 m of fill, and TIS 1166 under traffic with 0.6–3.0 m of fill. 3/4" crushed stone (No. 1 stone) is crushed rock of about 3/4 inch, used for concrete mixing, concrete casting, floors, asphalt surfacing and general construction. CCP sells 3/4" stone, 3/8" chips, crushed rock base, stone dust and large selected stone by the tonne, delivered by 10-wheel truck (13 t) or trailer (28 t). Crushed rock base is used for filling and compacting ground and levelling road and building floors; once compacted it is denser and stronger than laterite. Stone dust is used for pressing blocks, paving footpaths and multi-purpose areas, and in road surfacing. Typically 1 m³ weighs about 1.65 t (crushed rock base), 1.60 t (stone dust) and 1.45 t (3/4" stone), depending on moisture and compaction. CCP sells by the tonne.
